about

released on Catasonic Records in 1997, this music was derived from electronic pieces composed as scores to performances by Johanna Went in the late 1980's and early 1990's. The work was originally composed as looping pieces and the versions on this recording are re-arranged to work as complete compositions with endings. There are also pieces derived from music composed for the SHRIMPS, and Stephen Holman's Theater Carnivale as well as a short soundtrack to Jon Reiss's first student film, Baited Trap. All of this music was recorded in our bedroom studio on Oceanview Avenue near the old Otis Parson's school (MacArthur Park). I used Opcode MidiMac Sequencer with a variety of inexpensive sound modules such as the Ensoniq Mirage, Casio CZ 101 and Roland drum machines.
